why do we do it?
"Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Yes? No? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constrects of a feeble human intellect trying deperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson? Why? Why do you persist?!"to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose... Why do you persist?
Neo replied with a simple "Because I choose to". but does that answer anything? Or does that just prove that Agent Smith is right? Is everything around you an illusion? just vagaries of perception? Undeniably, our feeble human intellect tries desperately to justify our existence. But is it truly without meaning or purpose? is it?
we give our life its own meaning and purpose. fuel it. define it. its what you choose to do that matters and you don't have any need to justify your actions as long as its what you believe in and you know its what is right. and so what if its pointless to keep fighting? should we ever give up? even if we know we can't win? can't succeed? no. we persist. we stick to what we believe in. because we choose to.
